The route
The route starts and ends in Caracas. The first days are on the coast: the La Sabaneta cacao hacienda, Playa Grande in Choroní and a peñero (traditional fishing boat) to Chuao to see its beach, its village and its cacao.
Back in the capital, the Santa Teresa hacienda and its rum, the historic center, the barrios and El Ávila mountain. Then comes Canaima: its lagoon, the El Sapo, El Hacha and Ucaima falls, and the excursion to Angel Falls.
Everything is included, except international flights to Venezuela, and the route can be adapted.
Day-by-day itinerary
- Day 1
Airport pickup and transfer to the hotel in Caracas. Trip briefing and welcome dinner.
- Day 2
Lunch at La Sabaneta cacao hacienda, a historic colonial house. Arrival at the hotel in Choroní and an afternoon at Playa Grande.
- Day 3
Peñero boat to Chuao and Chuao beach. Walk or truck ride to the village of Chuao and a cacao experience.
- Day 4
Full beach day. Visit to Plantas Eléctricas.
- Day 5
Return from Choroní to Caracas, stopping at the Santa Teresa rum hacienda for a tour and lunch. In the afternoon, a short city tour or bars in Caracas.
- Day 6
Tour of the historic center, the barrios (San Agustín and/or Petare) and El Ávila mountain.
- Day 7
Canaima: Canaima Lagoon and the El Sapo, El Hacha and Ucaima falls.
- Day 8
From Canaima to Angel Falls.
- Day 9
From Angel Falls back to Canaima.
- Day 10
Return to Maiquetía and transfer to Caracas. Farewell dinner in the capital.
- Day 11
Transfer to the airport and flight home.
